He has been working as a Consultant Endocrinologist at the Teaching hospital, Jaffna since November 2015.

He has a special interest in the Prevention of Diabetes and Obesity related issues. The Diabetes centre of T.H. Jaffna is one of the largest, well-established Diabetes centres in Sri Lanka with more than 14,000 registered diabetic patients.

He received his MBBS degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna and completed his postgraduate degree (MD in Medicine) from the University of Colombo.

He did his local Endocrine training at NHSL, Colombo and completed his overseas training at Birmingham university Hospital, UK.
