She received her MBBS degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo in the year 2005. She completed her postgraduate degree (MD in Endocrinology) from the University of Colombo in 2012.

She did her local training at NHSL and completed her overseas training at Oxford Center for Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolism (OCDEM), UK.

She was the treasurer of the Sri Lanka College of Endocrinologists from 2021 -2022.

She has more than 30 publications, including several award-winning peer-reviewed articles and authored several international book chapters in diabetes and endocrinology. Her research interests – are vitamin D deficiency, thyroid dysfunction, and osteoporosis.
