Dr Nipun De Silva, MBBS, MD, is a Senior Lecturer and Consultant Endocrinologist attached to the Faculty of Medicine, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Sri Lanka. He was trained as a Speciality Registrar in Endocrinology at Imperial College NHS Trust, London, UK.

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo in 2012. He obtained her MD in Medicine in 2019.

He won the Kumaradasa Rajasuriya prize for the best paper in tropical medicine ‘Meeting challenges of microscopic diagnosis in malaria surveillance under field conditions in Sri Lanka’ at the 126-anniversary scientific medical congress of the SLMA, in 2013.  Also, he won Dr Henry Rajaratnam Award for the Best free paper in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism for the paper titled ‘Arterial insufficiency in erectile dysfunction associated with diabetes; A preliminary cross-sectional study’ at the 53rd Anniversary Academic Session of Ceylon College of Physicians in 2020.

He has many publications in the field of Endocrinology in peer-reviewed journals.
