Dr Shahini Winson Gnanathayalan,MBBS, MD(Colombo), MRCP(UK), MRCP (Diabetes and Endocrinology), is an Acting Consultant Endocrinologist attached to the National Hospital of Sri Lanka. She has been a Senior Clinical Fellow in Endocrinology and diabetes at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since October 2024.

She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna in 2015 with first-class honours in her final MBBS. She obtained her MD in Medicine from the Post Graduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo in 2022 winning Dr John F.Stokes Gold Medal for Medicine and Dr Nanda Amarasekara award for the best performance in MD Medicine from Ceylon College of Physicians.

Her research interests are Osteoporosis, Diabetes and Obesity. She has many publications in peer reviewed journals.
