Dr Tharanga Samarasekera, MBBS, MD, FRCP, is a Consultant Endocrinologist attached to the District General Hospital, Negombo, Sri Lanka.

He has obtained his primary and postgraduate medical qualifications from the University of Colombo.

He completed his overseas training at University College Hospital, London, UK.

Dr Tharanga was the treasurer of the Sri Lanka College of Endocrinologists in 2023. He was the Secretary of the Sri Lanka Diabetes Federation in 2021, the public arm of the SLCE.

His research interests include diabetic foot care, metabolic syndrome and hyperthyroidism.
